Think about this. It takes 212 degrees to boil water. When it's at 211 degrees it's only REALLY hot water. That ONE degree makes a difference. We can be that one degree and make a difference in people's life. Let's help others overcome their weaknesses. As we do, we will recieve blessings and soon our own weaknesses will be overcome. Just like Mosiah 2:17 says, "when ye are in the service of your fellow beings ye are only in the service of your God." As we serve others we forget about ourselves and think of others.
Here is another thing I was thinking about. When you are in a room full of people you don't know. Can you truely say that you love them, even when they make mistakes? Knowing that you make mistakes too. Can you look them in the eyes and know what they are Children of God? Do you know that they are your brothers and sisters? As I think of all this, the hymn "Lord, I Would Follow Thee" runs through my head.
Savior, may I learn to love thee,
Walk the path that thou hast shown,
Pause to help and lift another,
Finding strength beyond my own.
Savior, may I learn to love thee-
Lord, I would follow thee.
Who am I to judge another
When I walk imperfectly?
In the quiet heart is hidden
Sorrow that the eye can't see.
Who am I to judge another?
Lord, I would follow thee.
I would be my brother's keeper;
I would learn the healer's art.
To the wounded and the weary
I would show a gentle heart.
I would be my brother's keeper-
Lord, I would follow thee.
Savior, may I love my brother
As I know thou lovest me,
Find in thee my strength, my beacon,
For thy servant I would be.
Savior, may I love my brother-
Lord, I would follow thee
Walk the path that thou hast shown,
Pause to help and lift another,
Finding strength beyond my own.
Savior, may I learn to love thee-
Lord, I would follow thee.
Who am I to judge another
When I walk imperfectly?
In the quiet heart is hidden
Sorrow that the eye can't see.
Who am I to judge another?
Lord, I would follow thee.
I would be my brother's keeper;
I would learn the healer's art.
To the wounded and the weary
I would show a gentle heart.
I would be my brother's keeper-
Lord, I would follow thee.
Savior, may I love my brother
As I know thou lovest me,
Find in thee my strength, my beacon,
For thy servant I would be.
Savior, may I love my brother-
Lord, I would follow thee
1 Timothy 4:12 reads, "Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity." We can make a difference everywhere.
Not to break any spiritual moment or anything but after ward prayer we all munch and mingle. Well, there is a really cute boy. His name is Jordan.
Jordan, is new to the ward and is attending BYU *cough* smart kid *cough* he came over to talk to the group I was with. And he showed me songs on his phone. They were pretty much the same songs I have on my Itunes. Wahoo! He is really cute and I mean CUTE...oh wait..did I mention cute?!??!? He made us laugh like non other! I pretty much feel like I have known him for years. We all talked for about an hour and a half. It was great. :)
Welcome to the ward Jordan!
