Welcome Wolverines

Aug 29th-Sept 2nd was known as the Week of Welcome aka WOW.
Monday of course was the first day of school. What a crazy day!! I was walking down the Hall of Flags and this tall person was in front of me. As soon as he moves I see this SUPER CUTE boy walking towards me as i'm walking towards him. It seemed like everything and everyone was blurred out and quiet, just like if it was only this boy and I in the hall. We made eye contact the entire time! As we walked past each other shoulder to shoulder everything came back. It was loud, people were talking and nothing seemed blurry anymore. It was crazy! I was so tempted to walk back and talk to him but I didn't. Hopefully I'll see him around.
Tuesday there was the Job Fair, UVU BBQ, Allred Concert and Green Out Dance!!
Okay, okay lets back up a few words. The job fair was great! There was tons of job opportunities! I walked up to a booth that said $10.75/hour. I happen to stand next to a girl who was tall. I was so curious on who it was. So I looked over and my eyes went really wide and I held my breath for quite sometime. I turn back towards the front and whisper very softly, *Sydney*. I didn't think she heard me but I couldn't believe that SYDNEY HANSEN WAS STANDING RIGHT NEXT TO ME!!!  I haven't seen her in years!! She moved to Orem, then Springville and then Washington! I had no idea she was back in Utah and going to the exact same college!! We were both freaking out and speechless. We talked for awhile and will hopefully be hanging out and going to UVU events.
I continued walking down the Hall of Flags and saw ASHLEE OLSON walking towards me with a girl she met in one of her classes the previous day. We all talked and I got to know Haley. I felt like I have known her for years! That's how good our friendship clicked. She is really good at doing magic tricks. So we wanted her to try one of her tricks on a random person who needs some cheering up. Haley walked in front, while Ashlee and I walked behind recording her every move. It was great! After a while, she did find a random girl in the court yard who seemed like she was studying. Haley did the trick as I recorded sneakingly around Ashlee's shoulder. The girl was very impressed and definitely had a smile on her face. Afterwards we were at the BBQ and Concert! Allred was AMAZING!! He sang Medley which is pretty much my favorite song! He even extended the song! It was incredible!! We walked around as we listened to Allred sing. We got tons of free stuff. They gave our snow cones which were delicious! We ended up finding MORE friends and meeting MORE people! It's great! I now know tons of more amazing people and i'm excited to meet more!
Later that night we headed to the GREEN OUT DANCE!!!
As we approach the entrance they ask us for our ID and the girl checking mine said that I BARELY pass the deadline of being 18! I have been 18 since January I have no idea what she was thinking. My friend that was with me had already gotten checked and her birthday was in July! I don't know why they were telling me that I was lucky. When I finally got in she made a huge deal about it with the other MAWL members. Haha she only made herself look bad, it was quite funny! We walk over to get our wristsbands and a few minutes later I realize that my wristband is SUPER TIGHT! I couldn't move my wrist. So I ask for another one and they make a huge deal about that (for no reason). So I get another one and they put it on tight again but a bit and I mean a bit more lose then the previous one. *sigh* oh well. We walk up to security and they have to check us if we are clean. Okay first of all I hate people touching me. The security lady says, "I know you are shy but it's for your safety" I walk to her slowly with my hands and arms clunched tightly against me. Not only was in uncomfortable but it tickled! After we past security we headed around the corner to the dance!!
It was sooo much fun! We started dancing on the outer part of where the group of people were dancing and we somehow ended up in the middle. Everyone was going crazy! It was great but somewhat scary! They did crowd surfing and many when up on stage to dance! As we were in the middle everyone would go to the left then to the right afterwards to the front and back. I thought I was going to die but at the sametime it was a blast. Some kids showed up and they sure knew how to party! Those around followed and we were known as the "Hot Spot" of the dance floor apparently because we partied the best but who knows we were just having fun!
Wolverine Wednesday! This is when they give our prizes and have parties!! You can also become a True Wolverine! Where you and your lover can kiss to become True Wolverines OR you and a random person can kiss...and to that I say no thank you!
Thursday they had a Drive-In movie. Thor was playing!
Friday was Friday Freebie Pancake Breakfast. They gave out their famous green pancakes! Yummy! Hah.
It was an adventurous week!

You may be tall. You may be short. You may be spontaneous. You may be shy. You may be inspired. You may be artistic. You may be goofy. You may be tired. What ever it is...You are always you and you are always blessed.

This is our THEME for this year!! I am really excited to start institute! They gave us this t-shirt to wear on Tuesdays with courage! They call it "T-shirt Tuesday". UVU is covered with people wearing it. It's soooo awesome!!! I love UVU it makes me happy being there. I wouldn't want to go to any other University.

"I ask you to make participation in institute a priority...Think of it. Friends will be made, the Spirit will be felt, and faith will be strengthened. See Ya Real Soon!

Life is soooo hard! I hate goodbyes. I hate that everyone is moving away. I hate seeing everyone leave. I have been struggling these past weeks. Many people keep having "Goodbye Parties" I don't attend them for a reason. I'm done saying goodbye. I have said goodbye to the same people multiple of times. And I hate it. You are probably thinking that it's rude or something to that extent. But It's hard to say goodbye. I know, I know, it's not "Goodbye" it's "See you later" But STILL! It's killing me! I'm very excited for all of us going to college! Many adventures await each of us! It's awesome. And i'm excited. Although this part of life is not easy.
Recently, my brother and I have been talking about going up to Utah State in the Spring. We are not sure yet. But we are just discussing about going. We both really want to go, but at the same time I want to stay here. I guess I would much rather go to UofU. Does that even make sense?!??!? I know he really wants to go and I respect whatever decision he makes. We will just have to see what is in store for us. Whatever happens, happens for a reason.
As Mickey would say, "See ya real soon!"
"Life is a road and we gotta keep going."

Sprinklers & Shooting Stars

Last night Zach M. had a dance party! It was fun! I went with Hollie and Ashlee W. We definitely know how to partay!! We danced for about an hour and a half. We left the dance at about 10:00.

Afterwards, we went Star Gazing at Timpanogos Cove Park aka Makeout Park.

Don't ask.

Hollie and Ashlee told me to go with Tyler so that we can go pick up Andrew Hess while they go pick up Mike Parra.

Okay, deal.

We went to go get Andrew and when we got to his house Ashlee called and said that Mike wasn't able to come.

Darn.

So it was only, Hollie, Ashlee, Andrew, Tyler and I.

The sprinklers turned on and we ran through them. It was so much fun!! The sprinklers soon turned off and we were listening to where they were going to turn on next. It was up the hill. The boys got there way before the girls did. I got there last. Tyler then says "Come here Lindsey my dear." and I said "Coming." As everyone is lined up looking out at the city, Tyler says to me "Look at the lake. And now look at the lights reflecting off the water. Also look at that Shooting...WHOA!" Hahah it was perfect timing! It was sooo cool!

We all walked higher to the "Love Swing." We all fit but we were scared we were going to break it. Hah. We stared singing "High on a Mountain Top" "The Spirit of God" and then Andrew suggested we sing "Kiss the Girl." Hollie was a bit worried, so Ashlee, Hollie and I ran half way back down. Then we started singing "As Sisters in Zion" while walking back up to the guys. We got to the top and we were done with our song. The boys then wanted to "battle" so they stared singing "Called to Serve." It was great! We headed back down and lost track of time. The girls went in a car and the guys in another. Looking out at the city and singing was the best ever!! I love being LDS and being able to feel the spirit and have the gospel in my life. I am one lucky girl :)

Trafalga & Seven Peaks.

MODEL SHOT!!

Our first trip to Trafalga. In line for Go Karts.

Yay 7 Peaks!!!!!

Lovely.

Love it!

Taking pictures while tanning. Haha!

Upside down boucing off the ceiling

Tyler following behind on our way to Trafalga!

I wanted to get a picture of Hollie and I to see if Tyler would actually pose along with us...and he did! Go Tyler!

So, last Wednesday (yesterday) Hollie and I decided to go to 7 Peaks and Trafalga. Cause of course we have POAP. We went to Trafalga from 12:30-1:30. Afterwards we headed to 7 Peaks. We were there from 2:00-4:30. While being there at 7 Peaks, Tyler caught up with us. We decided we needed food! So we went to Rocky Mountain Drive In. Hollie and I had no idea what it was, but we trusted Tyler with it. And very much so, the food was delicious. So our dear friend Hollie doesn't eat meat. This place was a hamburger place. So she ask "Can I have a hamburger combo, but with no meat?" haha it was quite funny! We actually decided to have the meat but on the side, so Tyler could eat it.
Once we were full we headed off to Trafalga from 6:45-7:15. We played a quick (and I mean quick) game of miniture golf. From 7:30-9:00 Hollie and I needed to go to girls night. So we did. Hollie did my hair and it looked fabulous! We left girls night early and went to Discovery Park to meet up with Tyler. We picked him up and headed off to "Makeout Park" or "Makeout Point" (That park has many names) From 9:15-10:30. While being there I did my first perfect cartwheel! Yeah!! I was pretty proud of myself. I could never do a cartwheel till last night. It was great. We laid out a blanket and watched the stars, then we sang songs. It was a great way to end an awesome, busy, spectacular day :)

Lava *Hot* Springs

Saturday I got back from Lava Hot Springs with my YSA ward! It was such an incredible experience! We went river tubing, went to the hot pools, and swimming at the pool! We got single tubes, doubles, triples and quads! So much fun! After we went to the hot pools. The hottest is 112 degrees and the 'coolest' is 102 degrees. Talking about HOT!!! Afterwards we tubed down to the swimming pool! We went down all four slides and some of us jumped off the platforms. We had a great time. I'm so grateful I got to go! I met tons of new people and my testimony definitely grew!

Applying sunscreen and getting ready to go to LAVA HOT SPRINGS!!!

Someone stole my camera and said I needed  for pictures of myself. Silly friends.

Sitting around the fire after a long day at Lava Hot Springs. Gentri, Isaac Major, and Barn Dog. I can't tell who is covering their eyes.

Hollie and I at the Pioneer place!

Heading to Lava Hot Springs For A Great Adventure!

Don't walk behind me; I may not lead. Don't walk in front of me; I may not follow. Just walk beside me and be my friend.

Friends will always give you the best medicine...laughter.

Off to go river tubing, to the hot pools and the Lava Hot Springs swimming pool!!!

Life...

In life we have trials. We may get them from family members, events, friends and even the unexpected. I feel like a failure. Sometimes I want to give up. I tell myself, "Why did I ever do that?" Sometimes I wish I could go back in time to fix what I did wrong for the better. Or even stop someone from bringing trials into my life. But I think to myself, "These trials are what makes me a stronger person." So I'm grateful for them. I am holding my head high, knowing that things happen for a reason and that everything will be okay.
I'm glad that I am heading to Lava Hot Springs today with YSA. I just need a break from everything that's happening in my life right now. I can't wait to go River Tubing. I miss the outdoor adventures. A new adventure a waits me. I'm excited to go experience it.

Last night the parli team got together. It was fun. We had dutch oven and made smores. We played True Colors. After dinner we watched our Executive Meeting we made for our coaches and the slideshow I made for the team. The girls of the team were crying and the guys just got tears in their eyes when we said our goodbyes. (In other words, See You Later) Now we are all going our separate ways. It's a hard process to say the three letter word "Bye." But we have more adventures ahead.

Temple+7 Peaks=Awesome.

Yesterday, Tyler, Felicia and I went to the Provo Temple at 9:00AM. We were there till 11:45AM. It was incredible! I love the temple! Just being there with friends and knowing that we are able to do service in the House of the Lord is awesome!
Afterwards we headed to 7 Peaks. We showed up with our church clothes. It was great! I got to pick up my Pass of all Passes! I love that little card! We had many adventures there. I for sure got burnt on my cheeks and noes. I know right? I got burnt. Weird. Felicia ended up leaving at 3:00. Tyler and I left at about 4:15.
Then I had to help clean the church at 6:00. But first I took a shower. I got there at about 6:40. We all met at 7:00 to go to Anderson Park for FHE. We had Hot Dogs and Smores. We also roasted Starbursts. It was fun! Tiff and I headed to the American Fork Arby's to visit Tyler. His reaction when we got their was priceless. We hung out till 11:45.
Let me tell ya, it was a looooong day! But definitely worth every minute!

Goodbye Facebook?

So, recently I have been thinking of getting rid of facebook. I  believe that I can do something better in my life than be on the computer. Those two minutes that I'm on facebook, I could have helped someone or done any kind of useful thing. Facebook is a huge distraction for me. I know I have photos and videos loaded that people LOVE!! But I'm not doing it for them, but for me. I would get rid of it for atleast ONE MONTH but for the most till the end of this year. Facebook is great. I just need a break.

Glow in the Dark Volleyball

Tyler (in the blue)  posing. You can't really see the pose though.

Someone took this picture. And the flash went off.

People playing volleyball from my team.

The net and the other team.

The ball got stuck up in the bball hoop. So Tyler jumped up to get it down.

Some of the people who played volleyball.

What the random?

Friends at YSA!!

Same height! Yeah!

Tyler's idea of a picture. Haha!

Last night my YSA ward played Volleyball in the Dark. We had a few guests show. Tyler was one of them and he was the entertainment. He would sing many songs we all knew (while we played in the dark). It was awesome, cause I felt like we needed music and he provided it with his voice. It was tons of fun!! Each of us had glow in the dark necklaces and the volleyball net had glowsticks over the top and the sides, so we knew where to hit the ball. The volleyball its self was glow in the dark. It looked very cool!!! We had many show up so we had to rotate.
